I understand that today when you woke up you had plans in your head. You had goals, dreams, and aspirations for yourself, your house and your kids.
You may have woken to the sound of a crying child or an alarm clock. You may have been jolted out of bed by the ever so familiar "uh-oh" or just the constant "mom, where's my _____?" Whatever the scenario I wonder if you were able to slowly come to? Slowly push the covers back? Slowly move your legs to the side of your bed? Slowly sit up and look out your window and think "what a beautiful day, I'll have to get out and do some weeding."? Probably not.
Chances are you've had to start your day with a strong cup o' joe and a harried shower.
Also, chances are, the schedule you really want to implement will only be in effect for the first 15 - 45 mins of your day. Right before the munchkins are sent back to their rooms to get dressed and start jumping from the top bunk into the baby's crib. (Don't think I haven't been there)
While they brush their teeth the sink clogs up and instead of spending an extended amount of time Bible reading while they begin their schooling, you're unclogging the sink.
I know daily life includes laundry, dishes, doing hair, changing diapers, adminishing the wee ones not to climb too high into the tree because you don't have the time to run to the ER today. I know your floors desperatedly need to be mopped and your pictures need to be dusted and would someone please clean the windows!
I know that every day for you holds new adventures and most nights you flop into bed too tired for anything but sleep.
I just wanted to remind you of a couple of things.
1.) Don't forget your husband. He is your first ministry.
2.) Housework can wait. But not forever. If it works for you to have one cleaning day a week then do that. If not, then clean a little each day. Enough to keep things tidy. Then have a major cleaning day once a month.
3.) DO NOT forsake your time with the Lord. Let things be delayed a little if that's what it takes to make time to spend with the Lord. That's an eternal and priceless investment that will only help you be the best you can be.
4.) You aren't "that one lady who has it all together" so quit trying to be her. We all know her. She's in all of our heads but even she has set backs.
5) Take time to take a t-o! If you can't be in your house without your family without "catchin up" then don't be there when you need to take a break. Whether 15 minutes or a day, you need a break. Everyday life is seldom, if ever, boring and your family needs you in tip-top shape. If catching up with a friend is relaxing to you then do it.
6.) Eat right. You can't be around if you aren't eating right. Unhealthy eating habits are neglectful and will take a toll on your body.
What do you do to take a time out for you?
1Co 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

I dont really have much to take a time out from right now, but when I do its to stamp and scrapbook. That really relieves stress for me!! I have wanted a Cricut for a long time but hadn't said anything (cause they aren't cheap) to my husband about it, we were in Walmart and we usually split up to go in different areas I of course went to go check out the Cricut and he we usually meet somewhere but he got done early and found me. I was looking at it and reading the box. He asked me about it I tried to act casual but I just get so excited when I talk about it. Then there it was at home for me. I have to say they are a lot of fun!!!!
Preach it Sister! ~smile~
Love You!
YOU WON AT BOOMAMA'S!! YOU WON!! YOU WON!!
Oh, I am sooooo glad that there are other people who have blogs! Thank you for your words of encouragement. I'm new at this!
Your blog is so great, with all the pics too. I will have to figure all that out. I LOVED the picture of the girls all in white dresses and white hair bows. Did you make the dresses and bows? I know you are really good at sewing.
Thanks for the plug for my blog too. I hope people will pray for missionaries. We are a scary lot! We need lots of prayer. :)
Love ya!
Mary
