Remember when I won the BonBon charm bracelet at Bigmama's? Did I ever mention that? Well, I did out of over 300 my # was picked. And I'm so glad it was cuz look at this!
Erica did such a good job and since it came just 2 days before Mother's Day it felt like an extra special gift in the mail.
I asked for a couple custom charms so it really is ooak.
Cowboy boots with Psalm 51:6 on the flip side, Laugh, Nolanites with the girls' names on the flip side, friend and on the other side mother, love and a ladybug, our names and anniversary with Joshua 24:15 on the flip.
Then Friday night I took the three older girls to our church's mother/daughter masquerade. Every year the theme is different and this year didn't disappoint. The girls and I decorated their masks together and made 18 more for the decorations and table centerpieces (which I'm not even sure were noticed) and had a blast doing it! We had a great speaker, fun games and really yummy desserts. Over all, a success in my book that took alot of work from alot of people. While I pretty much got the credit.
Saturday was a time of lots and lots of preparation...for mother's day. I don't have pics but for my Sunday School class Rhonda came over and helped me put together flower pens (thanks Mel) but since the kids in my class are younger than 1st grade they decorated paper to wrap around t.p rolls as holders for the pens.
Then I was putting together the carnations when I got the brilliant exhausting idea to put together boutinierres (sp?) for the moms. They turned out beautifully (in my opinion) and no one had one so I was so glad I made them.
I failed to get a pic of any but I did manage to catch this across the auditorium which I thought was priceless. Yes, it's blurry, it was a split second snap.
Would you look at what a difference a year makes!
Ha! I just noticed they're in the same order. That's funny.
These are what my little girlies got me and they're wonderful. My sweetheart got me this gift card and my in laws got me this one. What a spoiled mommy.
And finally, I don't have any pics of this yet but we started doing a mother of the year award last year by nomination in different subjects and this year I asked the ladies to tell me which mom who's been at our church for the last year stands out in their mind as having gone through a trial and having their faith strengthened or encouraged your faith through that trial.
I hope this doesn't sound self-righteous that I humbly tell you they picked me. The church bought me a beautiful outfit and a plaque and since I forgot to pick it up I was a little busy on Friday, we didn't have it on Sunday. Let me tell you though, when I asked them this year and ordered the plaque, I didn't know it'd be me. I am soo humbled, and honored and completely amazed. I'm thankful too that the Lord received the glory through the trials.
