I'm not sure if there are enough words to tell you how wonderfully refreshed I feel after having gone on the retreat.
I had a part in the planning process from the time the idea was born so I had some kind of inclination of what was being planned, however ( and that's a huge however) I had no idea the refreshment my physical and spiritual body would feel.
The theme was "traveling lightly" and the idea behind it was that we are only pilgrims on this earth. We need to be careful about being weighed down with the cares of this world.
If you've kept up, you know I was doing a session on marriage.
As a speaker it's easy to get caught up thinking that you'll be ministering most of the time and if that's what the Lord used me for while I was there. Praise Him.
I just had no idea how much I would be ministered to. Not that I didn't think I needed it. Just that I was prepared to be used. As we all should be really! Be ready to be used no matter where the Lord puts you. So, the preaching's over and I now give you some of the highlights!
Do you see how high that lectern is?
Actually a highlight! We stayed in a "bunk house" on a 285 acre ranch and this was our main view from our front patio where we usually ate breakfast. This is the owner's "cabin". Clearly he likes to rough it. Funny thing. He came to get his steak dinner from our dinner when we had steak and chicken the second night. Then he ate it on his quad on the side of the building with the other workers.
Three amigas on a hayride! Now, for a confession a woman should never have to make...keep in mind the theme was traveling lightly...
I ran out of clothes didn't pack enoughpacked too lightly. I know.
Tragic.
BUT
Rita packed enough for both of us!

Sounds like a lot of fun! Wish I was with you;-)
:) I am so glad that you were able to be ministered to..in the midst of your ministering. I would have loved to have been there-looks like you all had a great time! Praise the Lord for the heavy packers huh? :P I dread packing
WOW...what a beautiful place! You accounts of your weekend are awesome and make me want to go! What an amazing time spent with girlfriends and God. Every busy mom, wife, pastor, and so on needs time to get away and spend some alone time with God. Glad you had fun and just think, your back and refreshed! :) I grew up camping but only as a young kid and let me tell ya.... camping as an adult with 3 boys is way different than camping as a kid with no responsabilities! LOL Since I don't have any other females in the house, I kind of have to pick up and gp..... just to keep up. LOL I think I need to go on the retreat you just returned from!
What a great theme! It sounds like you had a blessed time. Im really looking forward to going on a retreat with the lady's at my new church. A little nervous cause I dont know a whole lot of them but exciting to let the Lord handle everything. The picture of where you guys stayed was beautiful!!!!
