... today I stood in the nursery of our church, that had been transformed into my dressing room, looking at a monitor of the platform watching as my groom walked in with his dad, my Pastor, and his best friend.
I turned away so that I would be just as surprised when I saw him up front, I just wanted to make sure he'd made it. On time.
For the first time in a long time I was alone. If ever a woman had had second thoughts that would've been the moment. But I was so sure that day, at that moment, that this was, indeed, the man with whom I'd vow to love, honor, cherish and obey. There was not an inkling of doubt.
I waited rather impatiently for my dad to come and get me. Of course then it seemed like forever but I really was savoring every second.
I remember when the doors opened and the aisle to the front looked as long as a football field.
Only to think later that I should've walked slower on dad's arm knowing it would be my dad's last walk with me as his daughter under his protection.
I remember thinking the songs were too long but not wanting to cut any of them out because they meant something very special to us.
I remember making the mistake of walking up on to the platform prematurely because I was so anxious.
I remember kneeling to pray and my sweetheart telling me how beautiful I was to him.
I remember the things we commited to the Lord there at that altar while everyone looked on.
I'm sure everyone remembers laughing while my father in law cracked jokes.
Most of all I remember the love that we shared that day. I remember that when I looked at my husband there was no doubt in my mind how truly, deeply, and madly in love with him I was. I felt so privileged to be his bride. I felt honored that he picked me.
Today, 9 years later, I still have no doubt in my mind. I am still truly, madly and deeply in love with him and I still feel privileged and honored that he picked me to be his bride.
I love you Matthew!
Thank you for finding me.

Matt and Sileena,
Happy Anniversary you two. Praise the Lord for the convenant you two made to each other and the Lord has preserved. I am heart broken to hear so many marriages not make it, but at the same time my heart rejoices to hear of what happens when couples commit their marriage to God. Thank you for sharing your nine year milestone. You and Matt are a beautiful couple blessed with a beautiful family. I pray for Matt's ministry and for the church that he has been placed as shephard over. May the Lord continue to bless you all. Thank you for your service. I love and miss your family. Tell Matt I said hello and am praying for you.
